This is coming to you from a wife, a mom, a co-founder of Wayfind. SEMA has been a long standing tradition for my husband, EV Ty, as he has been building cars out of his garage since he could hold a wrench. Within the last 2 years, we have gone to SEMA for market research specifically for Wayfind. 2016 we were living in San Diego, we schlepped up our kids from the beach when Ty finished a final paper and we rushed to the show during law school. This year, 2017, we did the same thing again, however, this time going as founders of Wayfind. It was a thrill going as Wayfind and talking to other very successful businesses. Pitching our idea was exciting and promising. Between talking to the Ring Brothers, Russell Holmes from Garage Rehab, new start ups, and tons of electric vehicle manufacturers, we feel a huge stamp of approval and felt a true energy that our collective here can feed off.
Here is the Top Ten reasons SEMA rocked for Wayfind.
- As a woman, when I am running around an automotive iconic show people seem to be completely flabbergasted when I start talking shop. Yep, hello world, women in this industry aren’t meant to be you’re booth babes. We are boss babes and a force to be reckoned with.
- No bathroom lines for women at this male dominated show.
- Russell Holmes immaculate beard, tough handshake, and having his personal business number in my phone to talk shop.
- Ring Brothers telling EV Ty that he will soon be right where they are.
- Seeing West Coast Customs little daughter running around their booth. We are very family oriented so it’s always a refreshing human factor to see business and family blend.
- Checking out Unplugged Performance Tesla Model X.
- Seeing businesses like The Diesel Brothers, Hank Robinson from Hanro Studios, and ROAMR continue to grow exponentially. Business is rad and this industry is on fire.
- Talking about all the thousands of pre-orders and sales for electric vehicle manufacturers and craftsmen like Bollinger Motors.
- Laughing and sharing enthusiasm with fellow businesses that are hustling and working their hearts out like us.
- Seeing the service that Wayfind can offer everyone in the business!! We work to provide leverage for businesses, comradery for commerce, a platform and centralized place for our EV community, and electric adventures for all of us. The Electric Vehicle Collective is the ideal way, it’s how we’’ll Wayfind more than just trade shows, it’s how we’ll Wayfind the world.
Ta Ta for now, and I don’t mean that in reference to booth babes.
